FOOT MEASUREMENT GUIDE
To measure the length and width of your feet accurately, follow these steps:
Measuring Foot Length:
- Prepare a Piece of Paper: Place a piece of paper larger than your foot on a flat surface.
- Trace Your Foot: Stand on the paper with your full weight distributed evenly. Use a pencil to trace the outline of your foot. Ensure the pencil stays vertical to get an accurate trace.
- Identify the Longest Points: Mark the most extended point at the toe (usually the tip of the big toe or second toe) and the most extended point at the heel.
- Measure the Length: Use a ruler or measuring tape to measure the distance between the two marks (toe to heel). Repeat for both the left and right foot.
Measuring Foot Width:
- Identify the Widest Points: While standing or after tracing your foot, locate the most extended points on the inside and outside sides of the foot at the metatarsal area (the ball of the foot, near the base of the toes).
- Measure the Width: Use a ruler or measuring tape to measure the distance between these two points. Again, do this for both the left and right foot.
Tips for Accurate Measurements:
- Take Measurements at the End of the Day: Feet tend to swell throughout the day, so measuring in the evening will give a more accurate representation of their size.
- Wear Socks: If you plan to wear socks with the shoes you’re measuring for, wear them during measurement.
- Repeat for Both Feet: As feet can be different sizes, measure both feet and use the larger measurement for shoe sizing.
- If you follow these steps, you’ll be able to get precise measurements of both the length and width of your left and right feet.
